On December 11th, 2013 members of the Homicide Unit arrested 19-year-old Brandon Barreira inside a Cambridge, Ontario residence. A search warrant was executed at the address where further evidence was collected. Today Barreira will appear in court and be formally charged with first degree murder.
Investigators believe that Tyler Johnson was targeted, but are still unclear on the motive. Investigators seized video footage of the incident from a number of video surveillance cameras and believe this was a coordinated attack carried out by a number of suspects. Investigators are releasing a number of video clips in the hope that someone in the public can identify them.
VIDEO 4: we are looking to identify a person of interest at the cash counter described as a white male with black short hair, wearing a Puma shirt, a black jacket with the lettering GRRC on the back, blue jeans and white shoes.
