On Monday February 2015 at approximately 5:00am a taxi driver was assigned to pick up a customer in the area of Barton Street and James Street North in Hamilton.
The taxi driver attended to the area and a male and a female in the area entered the taxi cab and requested a ride to the area of Augusta Street and Young Street.
Upon reaching the area of Augusta Street and Walnut Street South the male passenger requested the driver stop the taxi. The male at that time placed a knife to the driver’s neck making demands.
The driver using his hands grabbed the knife pushing it away and then fled on foot from the taxi. The driver observed the male and female inside the taxi also exit and were last seen running from the area south bound along Walnut Street South and then westbound along Young Street. The suspects stole cash, a debit terminal/machine and a bag with various personal items belonging to the victim.
The victim suffered minor injuries/cuts to his hands.
Suspects Described By the Victim As:
Suspect 1: Male, White, approx. 35 –years-old, 5’10” in height, 150lbs with a medium build and wearing a black jacket.
Suspect 2: Female, white, approx. 35-years-old, 5’5” in height, 170lbs with a heavy build, wearing a black jacket.
